Colistin Selection of the Mcr-1 Gene in Broiler Chicken Intestinal Microbiota

چکیده

Colistin has a long story of safe use in animals for the treatment and prevention certain bacterial diseases. Nevertheless, first description mcr-1 gene showed that colistin resistance can spread by horizontal transfer changed landscape. This study aimed to assess effect administration on dispersion microbiota day-old broiler chicks how presence genes influences determinants. In this study, 100 one-day-old were divided into four groups 25 (G1, G2, G3, G4). Animals from G3/G4 challenged with mcr-1-carrying Salmonella (day 7), while (600 mg/L) was administered daily G2/G4 through drinking water (from day 8 15). Two quantitative PCR assays performed compare amount present caecal samples. We observed levels higher animals, especially G4, due Salmonella. On 21, decreased reaching similar values as those but remained significantly higher, suggesting may accelerate spreading process when bacteria reach gut.

Diversified mcr-1-Harbouring Plasmid Reservoirs Confer Resistance to Colistin in Human Gut Microbiota.

UNLABELLED Colistin is an ultimate line of refuge against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative pathogens. Very recently, the emergence of plasmid-mediatedmcr-1colistin resistance has become a great challenge to global public health, raising the possibility that dissemination of themcr-1gene is underestimated and diversified. Here, we report three cases of plasmid-carried MCR-1 colistin resistance ...

The Occurrence of the Colistin Resistance Gene mcr-1 in the Haihe River (China)

Antibiotic failure is occurring worldwide. In a routine surveillance study on antibioticresistance genes (ARGs) in natural water bodies, we noted the detection of colistin-resistance gene mcr-1, previously identified in Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from human beings and animals in several countries. The mcr-1 gene might be present in water environments, because aquatic ec...

Dissemination and Mechanism for the MCR-1 Colistin Resistance

Polymyxins are the last line of defense against lethal infections caused by multidrug resistant Gram-negative pathogens. Very recently, the use of polymyxins has been greatly challenged by the emergence of the plasmid-borne mobile colistin resistance gene (mcr-1). However, the mechanistic aspects of the MCR-1 colistin resistance are still poorly understood. Here we report the comparative genomi...
